Now it’s your turn →Do you have a dream you care deeply about, but somehow haven’t been able to reach yet?
Things keep getting in the way. Time slips. Energy gets scattered. And suddenly you’re up against a deadline that threatens to put your future plans at risk.
When you’re forced to confront a fire right in front of you, there’s usually a lesson waiting there too. Sometimes, the way forward isn’t about working harder or knowing more—it’s about adopting the right mindset. One that doesn’t just help you put out the fire, but actually brings you closer to the dream you’ve been working toward all along.
Rewatching Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, I saw how clearly that mindset sits at the center of the story.
Bill and Ted are underprepared, disorganized, and clearly behind. They’re outsiders. Their one big dream is constantly at risk—largely because of their own procrastination and lack of follow-through. But instead of posturing or pretending to know more than they do, they remain open. Benevolent. Willing to listen. Willing to collaborate. They respect knowledge without being intimidated by it, and—most importantly—they stay aligned with each other.
That’s what carries them forward.
Growth here isn’t driven by expertise or confidence. It’s driven by curiosity and humility. Believing in yourself doesn’t mean refusing to learn—it means being open enough to do so. They check their assumptions just enough, stay focused on their shared vision, and let understanding guide them rather than overwhelm them.
There’s something deeply reassuring in that. A reminder that you don’t have to have everything figured out to move forward. You just have to stay open, stay curious, and keep going—together if you can.
So I’m curious: how did you see Bill & Ted this time around?
