You’ve read the reflection. Now see how this film moved others—and add your own feeling.
Now it’s your turn →“Have you ever been told a dream wasn’t meant for you?”
Some limitations are bold in bright lights staring us in the face.
Others are more subtle….through systems, expectations, and assumptions we’re asked to accept as truth.
How far do you have to go to push against the grain. It takes work, a lot of work and inner and outer doubt.
In Gattaca, Vincent is told from birth that his dream of space is out of reach. Not because he lacks desire or imagination…but because the world has already decided what he’s worth.
What moved me most on this rewatch was how inward the story is. Vincent isn’t trying to overthrow the system. He’s trying to remain faithful to himself.
Worthiness here isn’t granted.
It’s claimed..and tested daily through discipline, sacrifice, and effort that goes unseen.
This isn’t a story about shortcuts or rebellion.
It’s about devotion to a dream you recognize as your own, even when the world doesn’t recognize you.
We know what’s in our hearts when we listen and we know when we’re true to ourselves and when we are not.
Sometimes the most radical thing we can do
is continue in pursuit of that dream, intentionally, and with purpose. You are worthy of your dream!
