Resident Evil | What Are We Carrying, and What Is It Doing to Us?

Bryan takes a medical package to Raccoon City.

At the beginning of the film he is grappling with relationship challenges.

We watch him carry that package through a city filled with monsters.

This got me thinking about the packages we carry in the form of responsibilities.

How much of what we’re carrying is the responsibility itself, and how much is the emotional weight we’ve attached to it?

Do these responsibilities become heavier because of what we’re already carrying?

The monsters we encounter along the way may slow us down. But what happens when we fail to recognize the monster forming in the mirror?

We can become so focused on delivering what others expect of us that we stop noticing what the journey is doing to us.
