Reflections on the deeper meaning behind the films we watch.
In Spider-Man (2002), Peter Parker is just a high school student, until one moment changes everything.
Overnight, he becomes stronger, faster… capable of things no one else can do.
And at first, he does what most people would do. He tries it out. Uses it for himself.
Sees what it can do.
But then a moment comes and goes, a choice not to act. And the consequences of that moment… change everything.
From there, something shifts. Because the question isn’t just:
What can you do with power?
It becomes:
What do you choose to do with it?
We all have forms of power.
Our time.
Our voice.
Our abilities.
And often, we discover them slowly.
We test them.
We use them in small ways.
But along the way, there are moments, where we can choose to use them in a way that reaches beyond ourselves. And those moments don’t have to be perfect. They just have to be chosen.
Peter begins to use his abilities
to help…
to protect…
to show up when it matters.
Not because he has to be perfect, but because he decides to try.
And maybe that’s the real shift.
Power doesn’t just change what you can do.
It gives you the opportunity
to choose how you show up.
It was cool in the air, but I prefer my paws on the ground.
When you gained power...What did you choose to do with it.
Pay attention to the stories that move you.
They’re pointing somewhere.
