Each one represents a different moral character. The Good: Blondie, a gunslinger who operates by his own code, The Bad: Angel Eyes; a ruthless mercenary who will betray and destroy anyone standing between his goals…his greed and cruelty know little bounds and the ugly: tuco an overly talkative selfish, dishonest and desperate outlaw.
Over the course of this story they encounter grim situations and enormous suffering.
As they draw closer to the treasure, we begin to question the labels assigned to them. Each is willing to deceive, manipulate, or betray to get what he wants. Yet somewhere in their choices, a distinction remains.
