You’ve read the reflection. Now see how this story moved others—and add your own feeling.
Now it’s your turn →It’s 1957 and Homer Hickam looks up as Sputnik, the world’s first artificial satellite, passes overhead. Something awakens inside him. His pursuit of rocketry begins with little knowledge but a lot of determination. And over the course of this story Homer learns, faces setbacks and moves forward, in spite of others telling him what he’s supposed to do, and despite how much he still has to learn.
Do you ever feel like you're being told what you're good at…… what you’re supposed to do? Do you feel that? The itch that crawls in the back of your mind and you can’t scratch it. And then you ask and are told “no! you're good where you are”...”stay in your lane.” But one voice tells you to try. Because something just woke up and it feeds on hard work. Mistakes. Learning. Trying again.
Because to try is to discover potential you didn’t know you had. And sometimes the thing you’re not good at yet is exactly the thing you need to explore.
